In addition to being a beloved and valued member of Nashville Country Dancers, Chrissy Davis Camp was a teacher, caller, musician, singer, organizer, costume designer, wife, mother and friend to all who knew her. She was in demand throughout the Southeast for dance weekends, weddings, and reunions as well as the annual “Dickens of a Christmas” festival in Franklin, TN.

Chrissy was an ambassador for community music and dance. We aspire to honor her memory by helping the current and next generation of musicians and callers to keep the flame alive.

Chrissy Davis Camp scholarships are available to musicians and callers who have demonstrated a commitment to our dance community by playing for at least three dances or participating in at least three caller-practice events AND who commit to playing for or calling at least three events after receipt of the scholarship funds.

Musicians can qualify by playing at any of our dances including the Fifth Friday Open Band.

Callers can qualify by calling (even as guest spots) at any of our dances, including the 2nd Friday Callers’ Workshop Dances.

Funds must be used solely for purposes which enhance the activities of our dance community. This could include (but is not limited to) the purchase of educational materials or attendance at dance camps with workshops focused on the applicant’s interest, such as caller or musician workshops.

The application below must be submitted to the NCD scholarship committee for consideration no less than six weeks prior to the need for the requested funds in order for the committee to have sufficient time to deliberate.
