Nashville Country Dancers
Holding Weekly Contra & English Country Dances
Susan began calling in 1991 and ran a
monthly dance in Greenfield, MA for
nine years, where she developed an
eclectic repertoire of contras, squares
and English Country Dances.
Since then, she has called at most
major dance festivals across North
America and spent a year living in
France, traveling across Western
Europe teaching dance to English and
French speakers alike.
In 2001, she moved to Nashville,
joined ranks with the hard working
Board of the Nashville Country
Dancers, helping grow the dance
group and overseeing the very popular
Music City Masquerade.
A Vanderbilt faculty member since
2001, she teaches a course there
entitled, “American Social History
through Dance.”
She sings and plays clarinet and can
be heard with the English Country
Dance band, “Meeting House.”
