The Nashville Country Dancers is a
nonprofit organization dedicated to
dancing the traditional dances of the
United States (Appalachian squares
and circles, New England contras)
couple dances like waltzes, and
English country dances.
Volunteer run, the group sponsors
weekly English and Contra dances
and two weekend long events -- a
Playford Ball in the Spring focusing
on the elegant and refined English
country dance repertoire, and a
Contra Dance weekend in the Fall.
All dances are taught and
accompanied by live music. These
dances are accessible to people of
all ages and ideally suited for
bringing the community together.
No partner is required.
Above: Nashville's Friday night Contra dances welcome a wide variety of
dancers of all ages and experience levels.
